The rural residential suburb of Munruben is approximately 32 km south of Brisbane. Its surrounding suburb neighbours are Greenbank and Park Ridge. The Mount Lindesay Highway lies to the north of this area that has been growing in recent years.
The suburb of Munruben, originally belonged to Beaudesert, but it became part of Logan City in 2008. An early settler named William Norris, who owned the Munruben area, decided to name it ‘Mun Rubens’, which, according to aboriginal history, is said to mean ‘lagoon’. Norris Creek that flows into the Logan River via Munruben has immortalised his name.

According to legend, Jerry, a bullock driver, once set up camp on night, whilst on his journey to Brisbane. Unfortunately, he overturned his bullock cart on a bridge and lost his life. This reserve is well-known for its flora and fauna.
