The Logan City suburb of Hillcrest lies to the west of Browns Plains and is located about 22 km south of central Brisbane. Its boundary to the north is the Parkinson Bushland and to the east is the Mount Lindesay Highway. The suburb is home to the popular Wineglass Park with its water tower shaped like a wineglass. The water tower was constructed in 1984. Hillcrest is comprised of a mix of residential, retail and light industrial areas. The Greenbank RSL club is one of Queensland’s largest RSL clubs and much enjoyed by local residents.
The Wineglass Park precinct offers a range of public facilities including the Logan West Community Centre, Lutheran and Uniting churches, an ambulance centre, and a fitness and aquatic centre. To the north of Hillcrest there is an area of light industry and a business park.

Schools in the area include the Active Kids Early Learning Centre, Sweetgum Childrens Development Centre, Hillcrest Primary School and St Bernadine’s Catholic School. There are more primary and secondary schools in nearby Boronia Heights and Regents Park. The Digi Rollerskating Rink on Johnson Road, Swordsmen Martial Arts Centre and GymCare Australia in Tradelink Road are among the recreational and fitness options available to residents of Hillcrest.
Johnson Road and the nearby suburbs of Regents Park and Browns Plains also offer residents of Hillcrest popular fitness, lifestyle and sporting facilities like the Go Health Club and retail outlets that cater for outdoor activities like camping and birdwatching. Browns Plains’ Grand Plaza and Village Square has a host of specialist stores, restaurants and supermarkets catering to every possible need. Silvertop Park is an ideal wedding location and Sweetgum Park has electric barbeque facilities, picnic area and children’s playground.
